If the whole Duke of Sussex thing doesn’t work out for Prince Harry, he can always fall back on his comedy career. In a surprising turn of events, Harry showed off his stand-up skills at the 17th Annual Stand Up for Heroes Benefit on Monday. Donning his royal wit, Prince Harry dialed into the event via video call to lend his support for veterans, service members, and their families. And boy, did he crack some jokes!

“As someone who never gets scrutinized, I haven’t even had to prepare much. But I have been working on this particular act for quite some time,” Harry teased. “And everyone I know tells me it’s perfect. No, these aren’t people who just tell me what I want to hear. Oh, no!”

The event, hosted by the Bob Woodruff Foundation and New York Comedy Festival, set the stage for Prince Harry’s comedic extravaganza. However, Harry made sure to strike a balance between humor and heartfelt appreciation for military service members and their families. After all, he knows firsthand the highs and lows of serving in the British Army for ten years, rising to the rank of Captain and completing two tours of Afghanistan.

“It’s one that shares incredible highs and painful lows,” Prince Harry acknowledged. “It is unique, and that is hugely important to society, both during active service and after. Our community is valued more than you’ll ever know. And nights like this are testament to that.”

Not only did Prince Harry display his comedic talent, but other famous faces also graced the event with their presence. Tom Hanks and Rita Wilson, Tracy Morgan, and Bruce Springsteen delighted audiences with their performances, making this a star-studded evening in support of a noble cause.

Reflecting on the shared experiences and journeys of the veterans and their families, Prince Harry delivered a heartfelt message of unity.

“I know our experiences and journeys to this point differ, but we are always connected through what we’ve learned as humans, what we faced as families, and how we’ve come out stronger because of our ability to listen, to understand, and to support one another,” Harry expressed. “I am immensely grateful for this community, for the experiences of the past and present, and for what you represent and how you show up.”

Prince Harry ended his appearance with a sincere salute to his fellow veterans and their families.

“I salute each and every one of you, my brothers, my sisters, my friends, through respect, understanding, and admiration,” he declared. “And please remember, if any of you feel lost or alone with all this going on, don’t forget the power of purpose and upholding the important values you know so well. That always gives you the clarity and company you need.”

It seems Prince Harry’s comedic talent is just another hidden gem in his crown. Who knows, maybe he’ll be adding “stand-up comedian” to his already impressive resume!
