Zendaya and Tom Holland: Basketball, Fashion, and Love

Who says you can be overdressed for a basketball game? Well, clearly it’s not Zendaya! When the Hollywood power couple, Zendaya and Tom Holland, decided to join a group of California students for a basketball game in support of the non-profit sports organization Hoopbus, Zendaya showed up looking effortlessly chic. Sporting a blue and white striped button-down and straight-leg khaki pants, she proved that even in business casual attire, she knows how to slay the fashion game. Of course, she didn’t forget her tennis shoes to ensure comfort and style for any impromptu basketball moves!
Zendaya, who claimed she hadn’t played basketball since she was young, greeted the Oakland students with her trademark charm and positivity. “I just came to say hi to all of you and see your beautiful faces—and let’s have a great time playing basketball,” she said in an Instagram video shared by one local coach. However, she quickly dismissed any thoughts of actually playing due to the risk of twisting an ankle. Little did she know that fate had other plans for her basketball ban.
Elvin Rodriguez, a talented athlete at the event, captured the unexpected turn of events. He shared an Instagram video of Zendaya assisting him with a dunk, captioning it, “@zendaya with the Lob! 😮💨” Not only was he praising her basketball skills, but he also couldn’t help but acknowledge her impeccable lob haircut. Talk about multitasking on and off the court!
But Zendaya wasn’t the only one who got involved in the game. Spider-Man himself, Tom Holland, made sure to show off his skills as well. On Zendaya’s Instagram Story, Holland was seen dribbling a basketball, proudly wearing an Oakland Roots t-shirt. And in another video shared by the Instagram account Regular Hoops, the 27-year-old actor was even taught how to spin a basketball on one finger. Looks like Spider-Man has some tricks up his sleeve, both on the big screen and the basketball court!
The chemistry between Zendaya and Tom Holland is undeniable. They first met on the set of “Spider-Man: Homecoming” back in 2016, and despite warnings from a Sony movie exec not to date, they couldn’t resist their connection. Zendaya opened up about their relationship in an interview with Elle, saying, “Parts of my life, I accept, are going to be public. I can’t not be a person and live my life and love the person I love. But also, I do have control over what I choose to share.” And luckily for us, they chose to share this basketball date for a good cause!
