Drama and Avocados: The Queer Eye Beef
There might be some juicy drama among the beloved Queer Eye dream team, and let’s be honest, we’re all here for it. The level of your parasocial relationship with this incredible group of coworkers will determine how much of this tea you can handle.
In a recent appearance on the always dramatic Andy Cohen’s Sirius XM radio show, Karamo Brown, the culture specialist of the emotional makeover series, spilled the tea on Antoni Porowski’s bachelor party. And guess what? Karamo, the poor thing, wasn’t invited.
For those not up to speed on the personal lives of the Fab Five, Antoni is engaged to his boyfriend, Kevin Harrington. But despite Jonathan Van Ness playfully fueling relationship rumors until 2022, it seems that only Tan France and a dazzling surprise guest, supermodel Gigi Hadid, made the coveted guest list for Porowski’s singlehood send-off.
Now, let’s talk about Bobby Berk. Interior designer extraordinaire, Bobby is known for his straight-to-the-point nature. So when he confessed to Cohen that he didn’t attend the party, we all assumed it was a scheduling conflict. But hold onto your avocado toast, folks, because Karamo set the record straight—the whole Fab Five squad was snubbed! No invites for Bobby, Karamo, or Jonathan. Ouch! That’s some serious shade.
Cohen, ever the instigator, tried to smooth things over by suggesting it was a misunderstanding. But Karamo, always the real and upfront one, shut that down. “No. Listen, I’m all about being real,” he declared. “We weren’t invited.” No sugar-coating here, folks.

While Karamo may not have been thrilled about the snub, he did defend Antoni’s guest list, citing the expensive nature of events like these. Weddings and family affairs can really break the bank, after all. Karamo even went as far as saying that if he wasn’t invited to the wedding, he wouldn’t mind—blaming it on the costly “costs per plate.” Well, at least it won’t be a dramatic blow to his pocket.
Apparently, Karamo isn’t one to hold a grudge. When Cohen asked if he’d invite Porowski to his hypothetical bachelor party, Karamo flat out said, “I would not.” Cue the gasps! Karamo has been dating photographer and art director Carlos Medel for two years, and his hints for marriage seem to be falling on deaf ears. Sorry, Carlos!
So, is there trouble in Queer Eye paradise? We can’t say for sure, but Karamo tries to smooth things over by assuring us that they still hang out. However, he did mention that he likes to let loose with a drink or a shroom while Antoni prefers to stay sober. Fair enough, Antoni, we respect your choices, but Karamo doesn’t need any sober girls in the corner killing his vibe. No judgment, no shade.
So, stay tuned for the next exciting episode of “Queer Eye Drama: Avocado Edition.” Let’s hope that the Fab Five can make peace and keep the love and fabulousness alive. And if you’re dying to hear the full conversation, grab your popcorn and listen to it here.
