Sex Education’ series finale reveals characters’ fates.
Sex Education' series finale reveals characters' fates.

The final season of Sex Education was an emotional rollercoaster ride, bid farewell to the former students of Moordale. It was like a high school reunion, but with even more drama, sexual hang-ups, and loose ends than you can imagine. In the epic series finale of Sex Education, we finally got the closure we’ve been craving. Let’s break it down and relive the highlights!
First and foremost, can we talk about the epic dance party to “Footloose” at the end? It was the perfect way to wrap up the season and get our groove on. Everybody was busting out their best moves and having a blast. I mean, who doesn’t love a good dance-off?
But before we get to the dance party, let’s talk about the juicy plotlines that were wrapped up. It was a healing and closure-filled episode, with each character finding their own path to happiness. Adam embraced his bisexuality and came out to his coworkers, Jackson discovered the truth about his parents, and Jean apologized to her sister. Oh, and Abbi and Roman had some steamy moments. Talk about spicing things up!
One of the major storylines revolved around Cal and their gender dysphoria. Things got really tough for Cal, and they even went missing for a while. The whole school rallied together and launched a search party. Luckily, Cal was found not once but twice. Eric and Jackson played an important role in helping Cal through their tough times. It’s heartwarming to see how Moordale stands united in times of need.
And let’s not forget about Otis’s public apology. It didn’t go exactly as planned, with the savvy Gen Z kids seeing right through his fake apology. But eventually, he managed to make amends with Ruby, and she found the closure she needed. Talk about a second chance!

Now, let’s talk about the one and only Maeve. She grabbed our attention with her writing sample, which was accidentally discovered by her roommate Ellen. Yes, Ellen, the opportunist! But hey, at least she used her privilege for good. However, the ending left us a bit unsatisfied. We wanted Dan Levy’s character to admit that he chose Ellen’s money over Maeve’s talent. And success doesn’t have to come immediately, right? Maeve has plenty of life experiences to draw from for her writing journey.
One of the most surprising revelations came from Eric, who realized that he’s done with the church but not with God. He felt a calling to become a priest, and we can’t help but root for him. Be the icon of change, Eric!
Last but not least, we need to address Otis’s messy relationship with his mother. They had a huge argument, but deep down, we all knew she was right in helping Maeve overcome her imposter syndrome. It’s refreshing to see a show that’s so honest about teenage relationships. Not every love story has a fairytale ending, and that’s okay. Otis and Maeve may or may not find each other again, but what matters is that they made up with their friends in the end.
So there you have it, the epic finale of Sex Education. It was a whirlwind of emotions, drama, and growth. As the final curtain falls, we bid farewell to the students of Moordale, knowing that they will continue to navigate the ups and downs of life off-screen. But hey, with memories like these, who needs a sequel?
